The victim is currently at the one-stop crisis centre of Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College

A 14-year-old girl has allegedly been raped in Sylhet. The girl's mother filed a case against a BCL activist, Rakibul Hossain Mizu, over the allegation.
The victim has now been admitted to the one-stop crisis centre of Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College.
According to the girl's family, Mizu (20) raped the girl on September 29, with the promise of marriage. Initially, there was an attempt to resolve the issue but as the efforts failed, the girl's mother filed a case with the city's Kotwali Police Station on Friday night.
The accused, Mizu, is the son of Abdul Qayyum of the Dariapara area. He is also a member of the group following Pijush Kanti Dey, vice-president of Sylhet Metropolitan unit Swechhasebak League.
The accused was jailed earlier this year along with some other BCL leaders and activists in a beating case.
Sylhet Kotwali Police Officer in Charge (OC) Selim Mia said, "A case has been filed in the police station over the incident. Police are continuing their operation to arrest the accused in the case."
Previously, on September 25, a young woman was raped while her husband was tied up in the dormitory of MC College in Sylhet. The victim's husband later filed a case against six BCL activists in the incident. The perpetrators in the MC College case have been arrested by the police and Rapid Action Battalion.
