Stocks plummet under selling pressure
Indices of both Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges plummeted in the first trading hour on Thursday as investors selling shares to booked profit.
In the last eight days rally, the price of most stocks increased. So investors are taking capital gain by selling shares, said a merchant bank official.
During the session, DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell by 0.32% or 19 points to 5,853 till 11 am while DSE turnover stood at Tk556.54 crore.
During this period, 86 companies share price advanced, while 203 companies share price decline and 57 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
Beximco Limited secure the apex position in the turnover chart at the DSE followed by NRBC Bank and LankaBangla Finance.
A losing concern, Aramit Cement, placed in the price change table with a 9.63% gain.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) dropped 69 points to 16,982 till 11 am.
