High Court will intervene if onion price does not come down in a week
Supreme Court lawyer Tanvir Ahmed filed the petition
The High Court today said that it would intervene if onion price did not come down in the country within a week.
The High Court bench of Justice Nazrul Islam Talukdar and Justice KM Hafizul Alam made the remarks after hearing a writ petition on uncovering the people involved in onion price hike.
Supreme Court lawyer Tanvir Ahmed filed the petition.
The writ sought issuance of a rule on why the failure of authorities concerned to control onion price hike should not be declared illegal.
The Ministry of Commerce and others, including the Anti-Corruption Commission, have been made defendants in the writ.
