BGMEA president pays tribute to Rana Plaza victims

Faruque Hassan, the newly elected president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has paid his tribute to the victims of Rana Plaza collapse on Saturday.

A team of directors of board of BGMEA headed by Faruque Hassan placed floral wreaths on the graves of the victims at the Jurain graveyard in Dhaka, said a media statement.

They also offered prayers seeking peace of souls of deceased workers.

Among others from Board Directors, Md Mohiuddin Rubel, Tanvir Ahmed, Md Khosru Chowdhury, Abdullah Hil Rakib, Rajiv Chowdhury, were present at the event.

On April 24, 2013, the nine-story Rana Plaza building, which housed several factories, suddenly crashed down, leaving around 1,138 workers dead and over 1,169 others injured.
