BSEC warns six more brokerage firms over non-compliance

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has warned six more brokerage firms over their non-compliance with securities laws and regulations.

Recently, the commission issued a warning letter to these brokerage firms.

The six brokerage firms are: DMR Securities Services, BD Sunlife Securities, GMF Securities, Salam and Company, Islami Bank Securities, and Prime Islami Securities Limited.

The information about two brokerage firms – DMR Securities Services and BD Sunlife Securities – was disclosed on the website of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday.

Earlier on 16 March, the regulator warned 13 Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (Trec) holders over non-compliance issues.

The main duty of the Trec holders is to facilitate stock transactions between buyers and sellers.

A letter issued by the BSEC said compliance of all securities related laws in future, in connection with default and contravention, must be ensured.

However, it did not mention which laws or regulations these Trec holders did not comply with.
