Digital Hospital launches Covid care packages to provide healthcare at home

TBS Report

Last modified: 29 April, 2021, 08:18 pm

Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh and record-breaking number of infections and deaths being reported recently, Digital Hospital has launched 2 new Covid care packages through which a patient can get daily follow-ups by dedicated doctors until recovery while receiving treatment from the comfort of their homes.

Doctors are available round the clock for follow-up treatment under these packages launched on 26 April.

Patients will be able to avail these packages by calling Digital Hospital's toll-free hotline number, 08 000 111 000, reads a press release.

The team of doctors dedicated for these packages have been serving the Covid hotline since July 2020 and so far has already catered to over 70,000 calls to the hotline.

Furthermore, to aid the patients, Digital Hospital will also keep a reserve of oxygen cylinders in case any breathing issues arise for the patients.

Designed to ensure quality care for patients at home, "Covid Homecare Package" further includes consultations with Medicine specialists, psychologists for dealing with stress and anxiety and nutritionists for personalized special diet that will help with faster recovery, together with other important tests, medicine and health devices (including Oximeter, Thermometer, waste bags, sanitizers etc.,)  free home delivery.

A patient can also get a discount on the 2nd package, if he/she avails the first package with at home Covid-19 test along with a consultation with a medicine specialist.

However, doctors will guide and refer the patients if hospital admission really becomes imperative.

Andrew Smith, CCO of Digital Healthcare Solutions believes, " With the sudden onslaught of the new variant of the coronavirus, the number of people infected and dying are at an all-time high in Bangladesh. Therefore, with limited healthcare resources, access to quality healthcare services has now become scarce. We believe through these packages, the people of Bangladesh will be greatly benefitted as now they can get the required treatment, from the comfort of their homes, reducing the pressure on hospitals and doctors of the existing healthcare infrastructure. We believe everyone has the right to access quality healthcare."
