Ekattor TV journalist tests positive for Covid-19

A journalist of private television channel - Ekattor TV tested positive for Covid-19.

He is a Gazipur correspondent of the TV channel.

Confirming to the matter to The Business Standard, Gazipur Sadar Upazila Health and Family Welfare Officer Md Shahin said, "The journalist was suffering from coronavirus symptoms including fever, cold, cough and throat pain. His blood sample was collected and sent to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for test on Monday."

"The journalist tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday afternoon. He along with three family members were asked to stay in home-quarantine. Blood samples of other people, who came in contact with him including his family members and journalists, will be collected today," the health official added.

So far 51 people tested positive for coronavirus in Gazipur until Tuesday evening, according to Gazipur Civil Surgeon office.

On April 11, a journalist of ATN News tested positive for Covid-19.

Later on April 9, a senior reporter of Jamuna TV has tested positive for COVID-19.

On April 3, a press release of  Independent TV said that a journalist of the TV channel tested positive for the Covid-19.
