Why not breastfeeding corners at public places: HC
The High Court has issued a ruling asking authorities concerned to explain why breastfeeding corners should not be set up at public places like airports, rail stations, bus stands and government-owned markets.
Justices Mainul Islam Chowdhury and Khondaker Diliruzzaman issued the rule today.
The court also wanted to know why the Women and Children Affairs Ministry should not be directed to formulate guidelines to establish breastfeeding corners in public places and private institutions.
The cabinet, women and children affairs, health, social welfare, and civil aviation and tourism secretaries were, among others, asked to reply to the rule within four weeks.
