‘Instant action if police attempt to incriminate anyone with drugs’
Abu Kalam Siddique, the newly-appointed commissioner of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said instant action will be taken if police attempt to incriminate any innocent person by trapping them with drugs.
The police commissioner said this in a view-exchange meeting with media persons at Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Lines ground on Saturday.
"There is no need for drug-addicted, drug dealer police in the police force. Our policy is zero-tolerance against narcotics. IGP has sent me with that instruction," he added.
"We want a service-oriented police force to bring policing to people's doorsteps, so that, the people of Rajshahi can move around safely. The Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation will assist us in this matter," the police commissioner said.
