Dhaka South to conduct mobile court from August 16 to control dengue

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will conduct a mobile court from August 16 to control mosquito-borne diseases, particularly dengue.

On Sunday, Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh gave a directive in this regard in a review meeting on the comprehensive mosquito control programme at Nagar Bhaban.

"We are getting success in the year-round mosquito control activities with the cooperation of all and the people of Dhaka are getting benefits," he added.
As a result, there is no outbreak of mosquitoes in Dhaka South. Even then, dengue mosquito breeding grounds still remain in Dhaka South, especially on the premises of various government agencies, institutions and buildings under construction, the mayor said.

"Normally, dengue spreads in large numbers during this time. So, we are now going to take the last step of our action plan. We will start conducting the mobile court on August 16. Through this, we will control the mosquitoes in organisations and under-construction buildings which are still the breeding grounds of dengue mosquitoes. Besides, we will create awareness among them so that they take effective measures to eradicate dengue mosquitoes on their own initiative," he said.

"Initially, we will conduct these activities with two mobile courts."
