Bangladesh confirms third death from coronavirus, 6 new cases
Bangladesh today announced the third death from the novel coronavirus in the country.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the disclosure in a briefing today.
Six new cases were found in last 24 hours, increasing the total number of infected patients to 33 in the country.
Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said, "Among the infected persons, 13 are expatriates and other 20 persons were infected from those expatriates. Meanwhile one doctor and two nurses have been found coronavirus positive so far."
"Some 51 patients are in Isolation, 46 in institutional quarantine," she added.
She also said, among the infected persons - 15 are in Dhaka city, 10 in Madaripur, three in Narayanganj, two in Gaibandha, one each in Cumilla, Gazipur and Chuadanga.
Bangladesh confirmed its first death from coronavirus infection on March 18 and second death on March 21.
About 341,722 people around the world have been infected with the deadly virus and 14,765 deaths were reportedly globally till date.
