Standard Bank donates one day salary of employees' to Bidyanondo

As a gesture of solidarity with the underprivileged segment of our society during this on-going corona crisis, the employees of Standard Bank Limited sacrificed one day of their salary worth more than Tk28 lakh and handed over the same to the fund of Bidyanondo Foundation, which is one of the leading voluntary organizations in the country, engaged in multifarious humanitarian activities. 

The foundation is highly regarded for its tireless role in meeting the basic needs of the poor and underprivileged children. The donated money will be utilized for providing food assistance to 30,000 poor and underprivileged families. 

During this holy month of Ramadan, the foundation plans to distribute cooked food to about 24,000 people every day. while also provide food aid to about three lac families. 

On May 3, 2020, Khondoker Rashed Maqsood, Managing Director and CEO of Standard Bank Limited handed over the donation cheque to Jakir Hossain FCCA, ACA, the Chief Financial Officer of Bidyanondo Foundation on behalf of all the bank employees in presence of Deputy Managing Director Motaleb Hossain were present among others. 

Maqsood said, "It is the sacred duty of all of us to stand by the endangered people in this crisis of the country". He thanked all the employees of his organization for their contribution and appealed to all the rich people of the country to stand by the endangered people. 

The Honourable Board of Directors of the Bank also expressed its solidarity to the crisis-stricken people through providing its grant of  Tk5 crore to Honourable Prime Minister's Relief Fund in collaboration with the BAB.
