A man from Cumilla's Daudkandi upazila died from Covid-19 like symptoms.
Alek Khan, 56, died at his house in Chakratala village under Maruka union of the upazila on Sunday early morning.
Daudkandi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Shahinur Alam Sumon confirmed the death.
Union Parishad Chairman, Khalil Talukder, said, "Seven families from the deceased's house building are being guarded by police and village police members since the lockdown on Saturday night. The dead body is under police guard."
Daudkandi Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Kamrul Islam Khan, said, "On Saturday night, seven families were put under lock down on the recommendation of Upazila Health and Public Health Officer after the 56-year-old Alek Khan showed coronavirus like symptoms. He died. Health officials confirmed that the samples were collected on Sunday morning. It is being sent to Dhaka for examination."
