Evercare Hospital Dhaka has become the nation's first ever successful PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) Device Closure on a young lady (age 27) with Cryptogenic Stroke (ischemic CVD).
A Bangladeshi consultant with his team has completed the entire process on October 18, says a press release.
The highly skilled procedure has become possible as it got the logistical support of the hospital. They also got success in another procedure on a 37-year old woman on October 28.

Brain strokes develop when brain tissue is deprived of blood supply. This stroke is said to be cryptogenic when the cause is unknown. The most common cause for such cryptogenic stroke is caused by paradoxical embolism through a PFO, as per the scientific data.
