Two killed in Rajshahi road crash

Two people were killed and two more injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Muraripur of Rajshahi on Wednesday.

The accident took place on the Rajshahi-ChapaiNawabganj highway around 3pm.

However, the injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Local and police said three passengers were going to Rajshahi by CNG from Chapainawabganj and the truck was coming from the opposite site. The truck heat the CNG near at Muraripur area leaving the driver and  a woman died on the spot.

Two injured were rescued in critical condition and admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. However, eyewitnesses said that the CNG driver was driving along the middle of the road.

Golam Ruhul Kuddus, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said one of the deceased was identified as CNG driver Ansar Ali of Chapai Nawabganj's Gomostapur upazila.

The other deceased, a female, was yet to be identified.
