Fire guts over 200 shanties in Chattogram
Fifteen vehicles of four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire at around 8am
More than 200 shanties were gutted in a fire at a slum in Chattogram's Madarbari area early today.
The fire originated around 5am, said Farid Ahmed, deputy assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service.
No casualty was reported initially after the fire incident. The cause of fire could not be known immediately, said Farid Ahmed.

"We are investigating to find out the cause of fire and extent of damage," he added.
He said 15 vehicles of four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire at around 8am.
