The number of patients receiving treatment for dengue fever in Tangail is growing.
Eight dengue patients were admitted to Tangail General Hospital in the last 24 hours since Sunday, taking the total number of the patients in the hospital to 343.
Of them, 286 have been cured and 57 are being treated currently in Tangail General Hospital.
On the other hand, 150 dengue patients took the treatment from Mirzapur’s Kumudini Hospital. Of them, 125 have been cured and 25 are taking treatment currently.
Superintendent of Tangail General hospital Dr Narayan Chandra said: “The large number of dengue cases is forcing hospital to keep them in different wards.”
Some patients have returned home after they were cured and many have gone to Dhaka for better treatment.
Doctors fear that the rising number of dengue patients will break all previous records in the district.
