6 get life term for killing a man 22 years ago

A Tangail court has sentenced six persons to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 1998.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Saud Hasan handed down the verdict on Thursday.
The court also fined the convicts – A Kader, Chan Kha, Shahid, Wazed, Abul and Rupchan – Tk20,000 each. And if they are unable to pay the fine, they will have to serve six months more in jail.
Meanwhile, the court acquitted six other accused in the case, as the allegations brought against them could not be proved. They are Sayed, Mintu, Shadhu, Rahiz Uddin, Aziz and Teru Chan.
Public Prosecutor S Akbar Ali Khan said, "Bahadur Kha from Tangail's Rashidpur village was hacked to death over old animosities at around 10pm on 22 November 1998."
The victim's brother Abdul Quddus filed a murder case with the Tangail police station on the next day.
On 9 August 1999, 12 people were charge-sheeted in connection with the murder case.
