Indices edge up at opening on buying spree
Turnover of the DSE rose by 1 percent to Tk475.83 crore during the session
Investors' buying spree boosted the indices of both stock exchanges in the first one-and-half-hour of trading session on Thursday.
In this session, DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose by 60.77 points or 1.18 percent to 5,194.
Turnover of the DSE rose by 1 percent to Tk475.83 crore during the session.
The benchmark index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI, gained 140 points to 14,885 till 11:30am.
Moreover, the Shariah-based DSES index gained 9.25 points to 1,195 and blue-chip index DS30 rose 25.93 points to 1,862.
Following the investors' movement, 199 companies' share price rose, while 62 issues fell, and the price of 91 issues remained unchanged during the session at the DSE.
