Photojournalist Salahuddin Ahmed awarded Photoffee Best Photographer 2019

Photojournalist Salahuddin Ahmed has received the Photoffee Best Photographer 2019 award. He has been awarded the prize for his 40 published photos in a book named "Art Against Genocide," published in 2018.
The prizes, a certificate and a crest, were handed over to photojournalist Salahuddin in Batighar, in the capital, on Saturday afternoon.
Among others, Chief Coordinator of Photoffee Sirajul Liton, Coordinator Shishir Chowdhury, internationally-renowned photographers Shafiqul Alam Kiran and Abir Abdullah were present at the awards ceremony.
Shafiqul Alam Kiran said, "This is a commendable initiative. Awards encourage and make an artist more responsible. Photoffee is doing its duty to photographers. I hope the winning photographer will also fulfill his responsibilities properly."
Abir Abdullah said, "Photoffee is inspiring the country's photographers, especially those who are doing well. Thanks to them for continuing to work even during the epidemic. It will encourage and motivate us to move forward."
After receiving the award, photojournalist Salahuddin Ahmed said, "Awards inspire people to do better work. I think that this award will inspire me to do more good work."
Sirajul Liton told the media, "Salahuddin's pictures tell stories of struggle of the stateless Rohingyas as well as the joys and sorrows of the refugee Rohingyas in Bangladesh."
"We carry out various programs to encourage talented young photographers, this award is one of them," he added.
The Photoffee Academy of Fine-Art Photography has been giving this award to one promising photographer every year since 2011. Previously, SA Shahriar Ripon, Kamruzzaman, Munem Wasif, Preet Reza, KM Asad, Joy K Roy Chowdhury, Sumon Yusuf, and Farida Alam have received this award.
