Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee has passed away and the Bengali film industry has lost a legend to death.

The veteran actor breathed his last at Belle Vue Clinic. Throughout his extraordinary career, he has impacted the lives of many such actors.

Actor Mamunor Rashid reminisced about the first time he met with the legendary actor Soumitra.

Mamunor Rashid who went to Kolkata to work on a stage drama named "Iblish" interacted with Soumitra Chatterjee and was able to cherish a special bond with the actor since then.

Mamunor Rashid expressed "In Hasan Ajijul's Agun Pakhi stage drama, Soumitra's daughter performed as a protagonist. We were enchanted by her performance. After that drama, we had a long conversation about drama."

"Many people would share their memory with Soumitra and his virtues. But what I liked about him was his immense enthusiasm for literature. He used to publish a magazine – titled Ekkhon – after every three months and it was a popular one. I would say that Soumitra carried some extraordinary liveliness and wholeheartedly entertained us with that spirit," Rashid added.
