DSEX hits 39 months high
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), hit a 39 months high by adding 101 points on Thursday.
On that day, the key index reached 5,985 points, which was the highest after February 2018. On 15 February 2018, DSEX was 6,050 points.
Besides, the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange's main index CASPI also jumped by 277 points to reach at 17,347.
Meanwhile, DSE turnover also crosses Tk2,000 crore-mark for the third time in the last six trading days.
Thursday, its turnover stood at Tk2,368.88 crore, which was 18% higher than the previous trading day.
Beximco Limited secured the highest position on script wise turnover chart followed by Prime Bank, IFIC Bank, LankaBangla Finance, Northern Insurance and Southeast Bank as investors showed the most interest on those shares at the DSE.
Following the rising index, 163 companies' share price advanced, while 143 declined and 58 remained unchanged.
Seven insurance companies name- Northern Insurance, Pragati Life Insurance, Green Delta Insurance, Pioneer Insurance, Progressive Life Insurance, Delta Life Insurance and FarEast Life Insurance to place on the top ten gainer list.
State owned Shyampur Sugar was the top worst share by losing price of 7%.
