Brac Bank wins four Visa awards in single year

Private sector's Brac Bank has received four awards from the Visa for its outstanding performance in cards and payment businesses.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, the bank said it won accolades in four categories – Excellence in Credit Cards Business, Excellence in POS Acquiring Business, Excellence in e-Commerce Business, and Excellence in Commercial Business.

Brac Bank is the lone bank in Bangladesh to have received four Visa awards in a single ceremony, the media statement claimed.

The announcement came from the Visa Leadership Conclave ceremony held virtually on Thursday last.

Each year, Visa awards its partners and affiliates based on the payment volumes and success in different categories.

Last year, Brac bank won two awards.

This year, the partner organisations of Visa won awards based on their business performance for the period from July 2019 to June 2020.

Commenting on the success, Mahiul Islam, head of retail banking of Brac Bank, said, "This prestigious recognition shows our business strength and the service quality in the cards industry."

Selim RF Hussain, managing director of the bank, said, "Brac Bank is extremely proud of this achievement. We will continue to offer more innovative products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers and keep up the momentum in the cards industry."
