Two men die at DMCH coronavirus isolation ward
Two persons have died at the coronavirus isolation unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
"They were taken to the hospital yesterday and were kept at the isolation ward. Among them, one elderly person, aged around 65, died last night and another person, aged around 32, passed away early today," said DMCH Assistant Director Dr Alauddin Al Azad.
He said, "Their blood samples have been collected and sent to the IEDCR. We can be confirmed whether they were infected with coronavirus only after getting the test results."
"Their bodies will be handed over to families if the samples tested negative for the virus. But if the results come positive, they will be buried following proper procedure," the DMCH director added.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed six deaths and 54 infections from Covid-19. However, more than 45 people died with Covid-19 like symptoms in last 21 days.
Globally, 874,081 people have so far got infected with the highly contagious coronavirus and 43,537 have died from it, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
