6 lakh doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine reach Dhaka
Bangladesh is receiving the vaccine shots as gifts from China
Six lakh doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, gifted by China, have arrived in Dhaka.
Two aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force, carrying the jabs and syringes, landed at Bangabandhu airbase in Dhaka's Kurmitola area this afternoon.
Earlier in May, China gifted five lakh doses of its Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine to Bangladesh.
India also gifted 32 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Bangladesh in phases over the past few months.

On 25 May, about 500 students from four medical colleges were administered the vaccine on an experimental basis.
Later, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) administered the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine to more than 450 Chinese citizens.
Last month, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said that Dhaka has placed its orders for June, July, and August as Sinopharm produces the shots after getting the orders.
