Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attended the ceremony virtually as chief guest. Arafat Huda Jaigirdar - Senior Manager, Fiscal Affairs and Sorowar Alam - Corporate Finance Manager, Taxation, were also present on behalf of BAT Bangladesh.

BAT Bangladesh has been recognised as one of the highest tax paying organisations of the country in 'other' categories for the past four years in a row.

Apart from Income Tax, BAT Bangladesh has also been making huge contributions in the field of Value Added Tax (VAT), another important source of internal revenue for the government.

In the last five years, the company has deposited more than Tk3,600 crore as Income Tax and Tk88,000 crore as VAT, to the National Exchequer.
