BUP celebrates Victory Day

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) celebrated the victory day with due respect and enthusiasm. The national flag was hoisted at the BUP building at sunrise on 16 December 2020 and three short films titled 'Amader Bangabandhu' 'Amader Muktijuddho' and 'Sadhinata Amar Sadhinata' were screened at Bijoy Auditorium of BUP maintaining social distance.

Military officers, civil officers and employees of BUP were present at the screening. In addition, online discussion meeting was held separately by the faculties considering the risk of Covid-19. The discussion highlighted the significance and importance of the victory day and the undisputed leadership of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Deans, chairmen, teachers and students participated in the discussion virtually. Besides, the buildings of BUP were illuminated on this day.

The speakers said in the discussion that the fiery speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman given on 7 March inspired millions of Bengalis to jump into armed struggle against the Pakistani rulers. After nine long months of armed struggle, in exchange of 30 lakhs lives, the brave Bengalis snatched the victory. The Bengali nation was liberated from the oppression on this day.

The speakers further said that the war of liberation is the name of a consciousness of the Bengali nation. And victory day has spread that consciousness in the lives of millions of Bengalis. The Bengalis should be inspired by the spirit of victory day and work for the development of the country from their own position throughout the year. The speakers hoped that in order to materialize the Father of the Nation's cherished dream 'Sonar Bangla', the present young generation would embrace the spirit and will work under the strong leadership of Prime Minister. In addition, BUP is committed to continue all activities in any adverse situation like Corona pandemic.
