Another DU student ‘commits suicide’

Just two days after suicide of a former Dhaka University student, another student has reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan in his room in Keraniganj.

The deceased was identified as Towhidul Islam Siam, only son of Rafiqul Islam, hailing from Hizla of Keraniganj.

Siyam was a third-year student of the Zoology department and a resident student at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall of the university.

Quoting to the student's uncle, Dr. Neeyamul Naser, chairman of the department, said that the student committed suicide hanging himself from the ceiling fan last night.

The reason behind his suicide could not be known immediately.

Earlier on Friday, hanging body of DU former student Rumana Yeasmin, also Ansar officer from 37th BCS, was recovered from a house in Azimpur Government Quarter.

She was reportedly committed suicide over family issue.
