5 Jamuna Bank officials held for embezzling Tk11 crore

The Anti-Corruption Commission arrested five Jamuna Bank officials in a case of embezzling more than Tk11 crore of the bank in Chattogram. 

A team of the commission arrested them conducting drive in Agrabad area of the district.

The arrestees are Jamuna Bank's Bhatiary branch's former senior executive officers Shahab Uddin and Subroto Sebok Borua, former FAVP sub manager Mohammad Golam Soroarul Haque, former senior executive officer Mohammad Usuf Chowdhury, and former executive officer Mohammad Raihan.  

On December 15, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against 12 people including seven bank officials. They took Tk11.35 crore from the Bhatiary branch of Jamuna Bank by mortgaging 54.69 decibels of government land.
