iPhone 12 Pro more expensive in India than round ticket from Delhi to Dubai
The taxes and duties that are applied to imported phones are highest in India, making iPhone 12 Pro is more expensive in India than in any other country
Tech giant Apple recently launched four new iPhones including the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Out of all the four new releases by Apple, only two will be available in India for now- the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, reports the India Today.
In India, iPhone 12 is price starts at Rs69,900 for the base variant whereas the iPhone 12 Pro costs Rs1,19,900 for the base variant.
Considering the previous trends it is not surprising that the iPhone Pro models are released with an exorbitant price tag. However, the iPhone 12 Pro is more expensive in India than in any other country. Dubai for instance sells the iPhone 12 Pro for Rs84,000.
The iPhone 12 Pro is comparatively cheaper in Dubai. So cheap that one can actually go to Dubai, buy the phone and come back.
iPhone 12 Pro price in India for 128 GB is priced at Rs1,19,000. The same model in Dubai is priced Rs 84,000. It costs Dh4,199 in Dubai and if one converts the currency to Indian rupee, the price comes down to almost Rs84,000.
As the 12 Pro will go on sale from November 6, should one book a flight for Dubai from Delhi or Kolkata for November 6 or later than that, they can get the return ticket for a little over Rs18,000. The amount might change depending on the availability.
According to the India Today report, flight ticket in Indigo airlines will cost around Rs17929 approximately. Price of the iPhone 12 Pro 128 GB in Dubai is Rs84,000, some other expenses may cost Rs10,000 - which will bring the total cost around Rs1,11,929; saving around Rs8000.
