Bonayan receives Bangladesh Innovation Award-2021

"Bonayan" has received the "Bangladesh Innovation Award-2021" for its continued efforts over the past 40 years on conduction afforestation activities in the country and its support towards achieving SDG-15.

The afforestation project of British American Tobacco Bangladesh received the award in a virtual award ceremony organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum, said a press release issued by Bonayan on Wednesday.

Since its inception in 1980, "Bonayan" has distributed more than 11 crore saplings of medicinal, fruits and timber plants each year, which benefits more than 30,000 beneficiaries annually.

Throughout the years, Bonayan has always worked closely with various government and private institutions to increase the tree coverage area across the country to support SDG-15, Life on Land, the release said.

Each year, "Bonayan" distributes 50 lac healthy saplings to beneficiaries across the country.

Despite the global pandemic, Bonayan continued its efforts to plant 50 lac saplings throughout 2020 and successfully celebrated its 40th anniversary, the release added.
