The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is going to activate an online data submission and dissemination platform on an experimental basis for listed firms under its virtual initiative.

"To this end, the premier bourse will train the listed firms to make the best use of its digital platform," said an official of DSE.

A two-day-long training programme will be held on 7-8 December from 3pm to 5pm online.

From now on, listed companies will be able to submit their basic information, publication and dissemination of Price Sensitive Information (PSI) and material information to their respective business modules digitally.

The companies will also be able to input all types of insider information, query, file upload, shareholding and free-float report and corporate actions.

In addition, declaration and confirmation of sponsors or directors, placement holders, quarterly and annual financial statements, annual reports, submission of audiovisual recording, dividend compliance report, corporate governance report could also be submitted through the platform.

Bank, cement, ceramic, corporate bond, engineering, financial institutions, food and allied, fuel and power and insurance sectors will take part on the first day of the training programme.

Information technology, jute, mutual funds, paper and printing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, service and real estate, tannery industries, telecommunication, textile and travel and leisure will take part on the second day of the training.

Earlier, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) directed the stock exchanges to collect all information including a listing application's hard and soft copies from the listed companies.

Once the platform is ready, BSEC will take new decisions on reformation to related laws.

The digital move is likely to ease the work for BSEC and stock exchanges.
