Chattogram Election Officer dies from Covid

He tested positive for coronavirus infection on 29 March

Chattogram District Election Officer Ataur Rahman Khan has died from Covid-19 at a private hospital in Dhaka on Thursday night.

Chattogram District Additional Election Officer Mohammad Kamrul Alam confirmed the matter to The Business Standard. 

"Ataur Rahman had been suffering from cold and cough for a week. He tested positive for coronavirus infection on 29 March and was admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka. He died at night while undergoing treatment there," said Kamrul. 

His body has been taken to the village home in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla district.

Ataur Rahman Khan was a student of the 31st batch of the Sociology Department of Chattogram University.
