Covid-19 infection rate drops to 2.79%
435 people were found positive for Covid-19 testing 15,566 samples in 206 labs across the country
Bangladesh logged seven more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Firday 8am.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 8,182, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the meantime, 435 people tested positive for Covid-19. The number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 5,37,465.
The latest day's infection rate was 2.79% of the total tests, though the overall rate in the country till date was 14.43%. The death rate stands at 1.52%.
Meanwhile, 507 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,82,424 with an 89.76 percent recovery rate.
Among the latest day's victims, four were men and three were women. All of them died in different hospitals across the country.
Moreover, six of them hailed from Dhaka and one from Rajshahi division.
Meanwhile, 15,566 samples were tested in 206 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 3,72,4473 samples have been tested in the country so far.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims shows that 6,200 of the total deceased were men and 1,982 were women.
The country's first Covid-19 case was reported on March 8 this year and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
