Bangladesh will get coronavirus vaccine in due time, but a vested quarter is spreading misleading information over the issue.

Information Minister Hasan Mahmud came up with the remark while talking to reporters at Rangpur Circuit House on Friday noon.

"We will get the coronavirus vaccine on time. But a group is spreading rumours about it," he said.

The minister urged all the countrymen not to pay heed to the rumour mongers.

About press freedom in the country, information minister said nowhere in the world does the media enjoy that much freedom like Bangladesh.

"If there are unnecessary lawsuits against journalists or they are harassed, I directly handle the issue and will continue doing so," he added.

Mamtaz Uddin, president of the Rangpur district unit of Awami League; Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its general secretary; and other ruling party leaders and officials of the district administration were present on the occasion.
