An oncoming truck hit a motorbike in a head-to-head collision on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway adjacent to Puthia upazila, on Tuesday, leaving two people dead on spot.

According to Puthia highway police, one of the deceased was identified as Sohel Rana from Chowdhury Baragacha, a village in Natore.

The other deceased is yet to be identified.

“A truck, coming from Natore to Rajshahi, hit the motorcycle coming from the other direction,” said Zahidul Islam, in-charge of the highway police outpost.

The accident took place in the upazila’s Boro Senbag area and their dead bodies are now under the custody of highway police.
