Smuggler killed in Moulvibazar gunfight

A smuggler was killed in a gunfight with a patrol team of Alinagar BOP of Srimangal Battalion (48 BGB) at Shuknabil under Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar district around 4:20 pm on Thursday.
The deceased is Badrul Mia (25), son of Attar Ali, resident of Daudpur village.
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed the matter in a press release and said that in order to protect lives and property, the BGB patrol team fired 1 bullet and one smuggler was killed during the gunfight.
In this regard, the Srimangal Sector Commander and Commander of the BGB, Srimangal Battalion inspected the spot, and the investigation of the incident is underway.
The patrol team also seized illegal handmade Nasir biri from the spot.
