The postponed polls for 371 union parishads and 11 municipalities, as well as by-polls in Lakshmipur-2 constituency, will be held on 21 June.

Election Commission Secretary, Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker, announced the date of the vote at the Election Building in the capital's Agargaon on Wednesday.

Earlier on 3 March, the Election Commission (EC) announced the election schedule for 11 municipalities, and the first phase of union parishad elections, and by-polls in Lakshmipur-2 constituency.

The voting date was set for 11 April. Later on 1 April, the commission postponed all elections due to the sharp rise in Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, the EC on Wednesday also announced the by-polls schedule for vacant parliamentary seats of Dhaka-14, Comilla-5, and Sylhet-3.

According to the election schedule, voting in these constituencies will be held on 14 July. The last date of submission of nomination papers is 15 June. The nomination scrutiny will take place on 17 June and the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is 23 June.
