Two ‘drug peddlers’ held with 6,000 yaba pills in Gazipur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained two alleged drug peddlers with 6,000 yaba pills worth Tk87,000 from Modhumoti road area of Tongi in Gazipur on Monday night.
The detainees are Rassel Hossain, 22, and Jahir Uddin, 31, both hailing from Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar, Commandant of RAB-1, Sarowar Bin Quashem told The Business Standard while confirming the matter.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB-1 officials arrested Rassel Hossain and Jahir Uddin with the contrabands in their possession, Sarowar Bin Quashem said, adding that the drugs were recovered from a wrapped polybag.
The arrestees were handed over to the Tongi east police station and a case was filed in this connection, he added.
