Three-layer security in Khulna to protect Bangabandhu sculptures, murals
The High Court on Monday asked the government to protect all the murals and sculptures of Bangabandhu across the country
A three-tier security cover has been arranged for the safe upkeep of sculptures, murals and monuments in Khulna city and district.
The move came following the demolition of Bangabandhu's unfinished sculpture in Kushtia.

Uniformed policemen, plainclothes ones, Police's Detective Branch personnel comprise the three layers of security in Khulna.
They have been deployed at 17 strategic points of the city to protect the sculptures, murals and monuments of Bangabandhu.
These law enforcers will continue round-the-clock patrolling and surveillance at all the points from Monday until further notice, Khulna Metropolitan Police sources said.
"And 300-500 uniformed policemen have been deployed to protect the sculptures, murals and portraits of Bangabandhu."
Although ther have not been hints of a possible attack on sculptures or murals in Khulna, the police are taking precaution now.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain said, "We have deployed policemen to keep the sculptures, murals and portraits of the Father of the Nation safe."
"Several intelligence agencies are working to figure out if there is a chance of an attack."
The making of Bangabandhu's sculpture in the capital recently sparked controversies. On Saturday, an under-construction sculpture of Bangabandhu was vandalised in Kushtia.
