Domestic flights will remain suspended from Monday
The flight operations on domestic routes will remain suspended from Monday due to the lockdown.
The decision was taken in an inter-ministry meeting held on Saturday, said Air-Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
However, flight operations on the international routes will remain open, he told The Business Standard after the meeting.
He said the authorities will issue a notice after the government instruction over lockdown.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh government imposed a 7-day countrywide lockdown, starting from Monday, primarily as Covid-19 situation has taken a very dangerous turn here.
