Six disinfectant tunnels have been set up at Sadarghat Launch Terminal, aiming to ensure safe journey of launch passengers amid the coronavirus pandemic .

Besides, 14 more tunnels will be set up in phases, said state minister for Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury while inspecting the overall preparations for launch movement and passengers' safety at the terminal.

He also urged to people not to go outside without any urgent need.

"Disinfectant tunnels have not been set up only at Sadarghat but also at ports. We will do our best to follow the rules of hygiene while carrying passengers in the launches. Awareness must be raised to follow the instructions. Launch owners and workers need to be aware of this," he said

Total 13 launches have left Sadarghat for different destinations including Chandpur and Munshiganj following health guidelines till Sunday noon.
