Long tailback on Dhaka-Aricha highway

Holidaymakers ahead of Eid-ul-Adha have been suffering immensely on Dhaka-Aricha highways for long tailback since this morning.

A 45-kilometre-long tailback has been created on Dhaka-Aricha highway, leaving thousands of home-bound people stranded on the road.

"Suffering has increased on the highway as the ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route is disrupted," Golora Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam said.

"The highway and district police are working together to resolve the traffic congestion on the highway as soon as possible," said Monirul Islam. However, he said, "The situation is out of control due to excessive traffic."
