Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman inside a briefcase in Mymensingh's Gouripur upazila on Monday morning.
The age of the deceased was around 35.
Locals spotted the briefcase under a culvert of Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway in Gangashram area around 10 am and informed police on suspicion, said Sakher Hossain Siddiqui, additional superintendent of Mymensingh (Gouripur Circle) police.

Later, a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body from the briefcase.
Five bricks were also filled inside the briefcase so that the body remains submerged in the water, said the police official.
Police along with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Mymensingh are carrying out the investigation, he added.
