Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra celebrates 90th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib

Bangladesh High Commission Canberra has celebrated the 90th birth anniversary of the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib at the High Commission premises on Saturday.
A programme was organized in the evening to commemorate the sacrifice and dedication of the Bangamata with the participation of members of Bangladesh community and High Commission officials said a press release issued by the High Commission.
The discussants focused on prudence, patience, courage and patriotism of the Bangamata who worked diligently and silently to emancipate the Bangali nation.
They paid tribute to her for encouraging the Bangabandhu and helping him take right decisions in all critical times of our national history.
The High Commissioner paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, the Bangamata and the martyrs of our liberation war. He highlighted the extraordinary contribution of Renu, Begum Mujib and Bangamata in the transformation of the Sheikh Mujib from a youth leader to Bangabandhu.
He cited Bangamata's highest contribution was to dedicate the indomitable leader, Bangabandhu for the cause of the people of Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner mentioned that the Nation could honour the invaluable contribution of the Bangabandhu and the Bangamata by actively participating in the development and progress of Bangladesh.
A video documentary on the life and works of the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was screened before the discussion session.
A special prayer was offered for the salvation of her departed soul. Following the local restrictions, the program was attended by the participants wearing masks and maintaining social distancing of 1.5 meter.
