Our slogan is "For a Smile", he added. "As human beings, everyone has a responsibility towards society. We are all members of a family called Earth. We want to bring smiles to orphans and the elderly, including children with special needs."
With the overall support and cooperation of the University's Overseas Education School, members of the voluntary team held various activities to celebrate Lei Fang Day. They distributed food and gift items to children with special needs at the Nanchang Xihu District Modern Handicapped Education and Rehabilitation Centre. Lei Feng was a People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldier who became a household name and cultural icon in China, symbolising selflessness, modesty, and commitment. Chairman Mao Zedong launched the "Learn from Comrade Lei Feng" movement on March 5, 1963, encouraging Chinese youth to emulate him. Since then, March 5 has been designated as "Learn from Lei Feng Day." This day is marked by a variety of neighbourhood and school activities in which people clean up parks, classrooms, and other public spaces.
