Tanjid Hasan Tamim's brilliant fifty, accompanied by Parvez Hossain Emon's quick-fire 40 off 13 balls helped Team "B" win over Team "A" by 6 wickets in the second intra-HP Twenty20 match at Mirpur on Wednesday. This was Tamim's second consecutive fifties in two matches.
Earlier Team "A" posted a massive 180 run from their allotted 20 overs, thanks to their batsmen who chipped in when the team needed them. But Team 'B" eventually chased down 181 runs keeping 6 wickets and more than an over in hand.

Solid opening pair put Team "A" in a comfortable position
Naim Sheikh and Shahadat Hossain Dipu, the opening pair of Team "A" had a solid day with bat and put their team into a commendable position early in the game. They both scored 40+ and had an opening partnership of  81 runs from 9.3 overs. Dipu was the first one to depart. He scored 42 off 27 balls with 6-fours and 1-six. His partner, Naim, was the next to go after scoring 46 off 36 balls, hitting 3-fours and 2-sixes.
Team  "A" then seemed to face a batting collapse, they lost 3 wickets within no time and were suddenly 4 down for 106. But, Shamim Patwary and all-rounder Mrittunjoy Chowdhury got them out of danger and built a quick-fire 48-run partnership. Shamim's cameo of 34 off 14 balls with 3-fours and 3 maximums helped greatly while Mrittunjoy remained not out on 23 from 19.

Destructive Tamim and Co. made the chase look easy
In the first T20 match, Team "B" scored 194 runs. So, it was expected that they would give it a go and try to chase down the massive 181 runs. They did.
Tanjid Hasan Tamim, also Known as Junior Tamim, like his namesake Tamim Iqbal, were destructive once again.
The opening partnership of Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon saw them scoring 54 from just 3.2 overs where Emon scored the majority. Emon got out first, before that he scored 40 off just 13 balls with 2-fours and 5 maximums. Emon played the same kind of innings in the previous match as well.
It was all Tamim-show after that. The southpaw yet another fifty. He ended up scoring 66 off 51 balls with shots all around the ground. He hit 4-fours and 3 maximums. Tamim has been in the centre of attention for quite some time now. And with this kind of consistent and destructive performance, he will give headaches to the selectors and may someday open for the national team with his namesake, Tamim Iqbal.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy also played an important knock and guided his team to a comfortable victory.

Bad day for the bowlers
It was a bad day at the office for bowlers from both the teams. They failed to give breakthroughs and were expensive almost every single one of them.
Towhid Hridoy was the exception though. He bagged 2 wickets for only 13 runs from his 2 overs.
Pacer Sumon Khan bagged 2 wickets for Team "A", but he was terribly expensive, gave away 41 runs from his 3 overs.

The High Performance squad played 4-day and 50-over matches prior to these two T20s earlier this month.

Brief score-

Team "A" 180/6 (20 Overs)

Naim Sheikh 46, Shahadat Hossain 42, Shamim Patwary 34, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury 23*, Towhid Hridoy 13/2, Rejaur Rahman 30/2

Team "B" (Target 181) 181/4 (18.5 Overs)

Tanjid Hasan Tamim 66, Parvez Hossain Emon 40, Mahmudul Hasan Joy 34, Sumon Khan 41/2, Noman Chowdhury Sagor 11/1.

Team "B" won by 6 wickets.
