Interstellar had a good run even during its initial release as well bringing in a total of $122 million. The re-release lead it to the second spot due to its expensive IMAX format.
China's box office also had new releases like- Dolittle, Sonic The HedgeHog and domestic film The Enigma of Arrival.
'Dolittle' fared well grossing an approximate $3.32 million dollars and so did 'The Enigma of Arrival'. However, 'Sonic' had a sluggish start at the Chinese box-office.
Interstellar boosted the Chinese film market and also ignited hope for Christopher Nolan's movie Tenet. Tenet is set to be released internationally on August 26th. Fans are eagerly awaiting for another sci-fi from director Christopher Nolan.
