Direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service provider Akash has cut connection fee by Tk1,000.
Every new Akash DTH connection will now cost Tk4,499.
Beximco Communications' DTH brand Akash made the announcement yesterday.
The spike in Covid-19 cases has brought the country to a halt.
People's television viewing duration and habit have multiplied now with more people staying home and for longer, Muhammad Abul Khair Chowdhury, head of marketing and strategic sales of Akash DTH, said.
"People are now realising more how much they have been deprived of quality television viewing with their conventional connection at home."
"As our distribution expands to all the part of Bangladesh now more people will be able to enjoy our service beyond the district headquarters," Abul Khair said.
Akash subscribers can watch 34 national and 89 international channels now with high-quality picture and sound, reads a press release.
All the channels are available under monthly packages of Tk399 including value added tax (VAT) for Akash Standard and Tk250 including VAT for Akash Lite.
Akash DTH is available in 64 districts and can be viewed from any corner of Bangladesh with the same quality.
