Akash, the only legal Direct To Home (DTH) home service in the country is now offering installment facility for its customers. In primary stage, the customers having IFIC Bank's `IFIC Shohoj Account' can purchase the DTH connection under this facility.
According to Beximco Communications office, they have started this installment facility on November 22 and it will continue till December 31.
The existing IFCI account holders can now buy Akash basic and Akash regular with 8 months of Akash lite subscription through a 12 months' installment. In that case Akash basic customers will pay BDT 578 per month and Akash regular customers will pay BDT 622 per month.
In order to get the offer, new customers have to open `IFIC Shohoj Rin' account from 30 branches and sub-branches of the Bank. They are optimistic to expand this facility to all branches of FICI and other banks across the country.
Mr Muhammad Abul Khair Chowdhury, head of marketing and business development of Beximco Communications said, "Akash has become popular in urban as well as remote areas of the country and among low-income people. We are trying to keep the connection and monthly subscription price as low as possible.''
They started this installment facility as it is difficult for many to pay the initial connection cost at once. In this facility, a large number of subscribers will be able to view TV with quality pictures and sound, he added.
Akash DTH started to provide its service using the feed of the Bangabandhu satellite-1 on May, 2019. The one-time price of Akash basic and regular connection is BDT 3999 and BDT 4499 respectively.
In both the connections, more than 120 channels are available with a monthly package subscription of BDT 399 and more than 70 channels with a package of BDT 249. Akash connection is available at more than 8000 retail outlets throughout the country in all 64 districts.
